Hello CHOICE Students,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Golden Week! The weather was still quite cool and a wee bit wet! However, I hope you enjoyed the time off!

A few of our students traveled over the break and I hope everyone had a fantastic journey! Some people even went abroad and I hope you utilized your English as much as possible! If you didn't make it abroad this week, make sure you start planning your summer or autumn vacation soon. Get out there and really make an effort to put all that hard work into practice.

One last thing, I just want to send warm wishes to one of our students who has recently been diagnosed with a serious illness. My thoughts and prayers go out to her and I hope she recovers quickly!

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend?! We have had some good and some really bad weather, haven't we?

Yesterday, started out wet and cold, but actually ended really nice! Today my family and I had a bbq for lunch and sat outside in our garden to eat it.

Welcome back to school for all the elementary, junior high and secondary school students who attend CHOICE!

April and May are great months in Japan and we have had some lovely people join our studying community. Thank you to everyone who is apart of our school. Lots of little things at CHOICE coming your way as the weather turns nice.

Hello CHOICE Students,

A couple of great things to mention as we finish off March and welcome the month of April. First, Koh and I had a great time golfing with Mr. and Mrs. Sannomiya in Shiga yesterday. Many thanks!!
I truly think we need to have a CHOICE golf tournament. Would love to know how many people would be committed to a day on the links??
Today, I am at CHOICE Omiya as I watch the construction workers put down new flooring for the school. Actually Omiya will now be carpeted and there will be now more space for the teachers to plan their lessons as we have renovated the entire back and side areas of CHOICE (new sink, tables, and chairs). I hope everyone likes the new look as we get ready to head into the 5th year of CHOICE under my management.
This month will have some new lesson times so please look at the schedule to take advantage of the open spaces. I hope everyone has a great start to April!

It's almost that time of year again! St. Patrick's Day Party is on the 17th at the Dublin again this year. Always a great time to mingle with new friends and see some others that you haven't had a chance to talk with since the last party.

The party will start at 7pm and go until 10 pm or later. Bring a friend and enjoy some fantastic Irish dishes and a pint of your choice!

Hello CHOICE Students,

Ok, this month has come and gone! Did I miss something? Is it just me or is time speeding up? I want to apologize for putting a late post on this blog. This month has unfortunately ran away on me!

My family and I went to Hawaii for my wedding anniversary. If you haven't been to Hawaii, I would definitely recommend it. Great weather, good food and drinks, and lovely hotels. My wife loved the shopping and the kids and I found the beaches to be fantastic.

I am looking forward to the warmer weather and SPRING plum and cherry blossoms. I hear they are right around the corner so I am confident that nicer weather will be hear soon.

I would like to thank some of our local businesses for recommending CHOICE to their employees and customers. We always have discount coupons and local business information at our schools. If you are need of a great restaurant, fitness gym, or in need of some dental work -let your teacher know!

Hello CHOICE Students,

Wow! What a busy month for CHOICE students! Looks like a lot of people are motivated to start or to keep studying English. Great job!

In February, Diane Haring will start teaching at both schools on Fridays and Saturdays. Diane is from Canada and offers exceptional teaching skills. Diane will also be apart of our proofreading team. Look for Diane on the schedule and book in a lesson to meet her!

Friday January 27th is also my birthday! Still 21years old! (Well at least in my heart!)

Stay warm as it looks like the next couple of days will be a little bit chilly!

Wishing all students and teachers at CHOICE English a very Happy New Years! We had a very traditional one in Shiga. Lots of good family time and very relaxing. Let's hope everyone had a similar one!

Merry Christmas to all CHOICE students, teachers, and friends near and far! I hope you had a wonderful day! It was truly a great time having a special day with the family.

The year is not over yet. One last week of lessons. Classes are filling up so if you would like a lesson, please reserve by Wednesday 20:00. The schools will be closed from Thursday December 29th to January 4th. We are open for regular hours on Thursday January 5th.

Just a reminder about our CHOICE English party on Saturday December 10th from 18:30.

This year we will be heading to a fantastic Italian restaurant-Ca' Del Vial located on Sanjo street. It is a stone's throw from JR Nijo station. This year promises to be fantastic. 早いもので11月も半ばですね。昨日11月15日は坂本龍馬の命日。
（慶応3年11月15日・西暦1867年12月10日）
龍馬好きのコウ君と一緒にお墓参りに行ってきました♪

平日にも関わらず多くの方が参拝に来ていました。そして龍馬
の好物だったという軍鶏鍋もいただきましたよ。幕末維新ミュージアム
にもよって歴史に触れた一日でした。

こんにちは。

昨日、久しぶりに尼崎のCOSTCO に行ってきました。
朝10時過ぎには着いたのですが、まあすごい混みようでした。
でもあのなんとも言えぬ空気がたまりません♪
CEの生徒さんＩファミリーにも出会いましたよ。

ちなみに日本語では”コストコ”ですが、英語では”コスコ”って
発音します。

クリスマスツリーのオーナメントを買いました。
大きなガラスのボール型で9PC（1200円）がとてもきれいです♪
またデコレーションしたツリーを紹介しますね。

そして、一眼レフカメラも購入しました！！初めての一眼です。
こちらも最新版ながらうれしいお値段。これからいっぱい写真
撮りますね～。

昨日、Robbie's Thanksgivingをしました。昨年のクリスマス依頼のターキーで、大興奮。
マッシュドポテトにたっぷりのグレービー最高！それにターキーにはクランベリーソースはかかせませんよ

友人たちとわいわいとにぎやかくパーティーをしましたよ。

秋はハロウィンにサンクスギビングそれが終わるとクリスマス。。。
イベントづくしです

この季節に食べたくなるのがPie、パイ
パンプキンパイにアップルパイにピーカンパイ・・・・etc.
いわゆるアメリカンパイは練りパイのサクサク生地でたっぷりの
フィリング。あま～くて、とりこになります♪

先日、ピーカンが安く手に入ったのでピーカンパイ作りました。
今週末はRobbie's Thanksgivingです。うちはカナダ（10月第2月曜日）と
アメリカ（11月第4木曜日）の間をとって11月の1週目にします。
どんなメニューにしようかな～

Hello CHOICE Students,

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather! Just had my 3rd sports festival of the month. I think I am finished for the year!!!! Ha! Great times and the kids had a lot of fun!

Since there has been very little enthusiasm for the Halloween party, it looks like we will have to cancel the event. I am a bit surprised but I guess everyone is not into Halloween! No problems! Save yourselves for the Christmas party!!! This year will be fantastic!!
We will still hold a kids Halloween party at CHOICE Omiya and go trick or treating around the neighborhood for some scary sweets!!!

Also I'm waiting on my programmer, but we have a great new edition to CHOICE!!! CHOICE English will have online lessons starting in November and this will be open to all students who want that special one-to-one computer style lesson and for those who live in other parts of Japan and still want to be a part of the CHOICE family.

Hello CHOICE Students,

September is nearing the end and a lot of great things are happening at this time of year. Many schools are having their sports festivals. Koh's is next week and Kaede's is in a couple of weeks.

We are also having a Halloween festival party on October 29th. We haven't had  a Halloween party in years so this should be a lot of fun! The kids will actually go Trick or Treating around Shijo Omiya's school. We have spoke to some of the merchants and neighbours and they are willing to have all the little goblins, vampires, and monsters visit for some Trick or Treat goodies!!!

The same evening from 6pm we will be holding a potluck party at Ranhotei in the Sanjo shopping arcade.

Please sign up for the event as it promises to be a lot of fun and there will be prizes for the best dressed!!
